The procedure involves a mild to moderate sensation, often described as a quick snap against the skin as the device passes over the treatment area. Most patients find the treatment comfortable without numbing.
Assessment and Consultation
Each session begins with a comprehensive consultation and skin assessment. Your dermal therapist will review your skin type, discuss your concerns, and determine whether Picosure is a suitable option for you. Any questions will be addressed prior to treatment.
Pre-Treatment Preparation
Clients are advised to avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning products for at least two weeks before treatment. You should also avoid exfoliating treatments and active skincare products (e.g., acids or retinoids) for 3–5 days before the session. Picosure should not be performed on sunburnt skin, open wounds, or if you are currently taking medication that affects skin sensitivity, light sensitivity or healing. Please inform your therapist if you have had any recent skin, laser, or injectable treatments within the last two weeks.
Treatment Process
